From a booking request to a confirmed visit

A practical guide to choosing a provider, requesting a time and checking the response in Polimalk.

Updated ·

A booking request tells a service provider what you would like to arrange. It does not reserve a confirmed appointment immediately. In Polimalk, the provider must accept the request before you treat the visit as confirmed. This distinction matters when you are arranging transport, taking time away from work or planning several errands on the same day.

Check the service before choosing a time

Open the provider's profile and read the service description, town, location, opening hours and available price information. A category is a starting point for your search; it is not a promise that every provider offers every service in that category. Check whether the work takes place at the provider's premises or whether a home visit is offered. If the description does not answer an important question, ask the provider using their published contact details.

Send the right details

Sign in to your account, complete any phone or email verification requested by the app, and select the relevant service and preferred time. The form changes according to the type of service. For a repair, describe the item and the problem. For a home visit, enter the location details needed for that visit. Keep the information relevant to the work: passwords, one-time codes, bank details and medical reports do not belong in a booking note.

Read the response, rather than relying on a notification

Use My bookings to open the booking details and check the current status. Keep the reference number so you and the provider can identify the same request. A reference number identifies a booking; it is not evidence that the provider has accepted it. SMS or push messages can be delayed or unavailable, so the booking details page is the place to check before setting off.

If your plans change

Use the cancellation option when it is available, and contact the provider about changes that the app cannot make for you. Do not assume that sending a second request cancels the first one. Polimalk does not take online payments in this version. Agree the price, any inspection charge and payment arrangements directly with the provider before the work starts.
